Jobs Fail After Changing Authentication or Credentials
Description
This error occurs when you update authentication settings or credentials for a service user in Coalesce, but scheduled Jobs continue to run with the old settings. The Job Scheduler does not automatically refresh authentication details.
Cause
The Job Scheduler is still using the old authentication method or credentials.
Scheduled Jobs also fail when the user who last saved the Job Schedule loses access. This happens when their access tokens are revoked, for example because they were disabled or deleted, or when they're removed from your organization. After 3 runs in a row are rejected as they try to start, the Job Schedule pauses itself.
Solution
- Update the credentials in the Environment with the failed Job.
- If your organization rotates credentials use a third-party or CI/CD tool to manage updates.
- If the Job Schedule paused itself, updating credentials won't fix it. On the Jobs Schedule page, select Edit, then Save, then Resume. See Recover a Paused Job Schedule.
